Building surveying

Joining our Building Consultancy team, you will become involved in the entire life cycle of buildings. You will follow a training programme aligned to a relevant Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Pathway through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This programme is non-rotational, but you will have plenty of opportunities to build up broad experience across the whole department.

What to expect

From day one, there will be a lot of variety. You will experience everything from schedules of condition and dilapidations to contract administration and building surveys. Support and training will be ongoing. And we will do all we can to ensure you gain the experience you need to obtain your APC qualification.

Eligibility

You will need to be on course to achieving an accredited degree, A good eye for detail is important too, as is the readiness to get involved in whatever project comes your way.

Commercial Property

With this programme, you will study for the Commercial Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Pathway through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. As you train, you will take on rotations across the business to build your practical experience. This could include regional or international rotations, or the chance to develop your skills on secondment with an external organisation.

What to expect

You will help to deliver a broad range of projects for our clients. In fact, there will be no limit to what you can get involved in. And we will do all we can to ensure you gain the experience you need to obtain your APC qualification. So you’ll need to show potential and be open to new opportunities as they arise.

Eligibility

All you need is to be a final year undergraduate on course for a 2:1 from any degree discipline or a postgraduate studying for a RICS accredited Masters. We’ll also consider recent graduates who already hold a 2.1 or RICS accredited Masters.

Quantity surveying

Joining a multidisciplinary Project Management & Consultancy team, you will become involved in the entire life cycle of buildings. You will follow a training programme aligned to a relevant Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Pathway through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This programme is non-rotational, but you will have plenty of opportunities to build up broad experience across the whole department.

What to expect

From day one, there will be a lot of variety. You will experience everything from cost planning and contract administration to procurement and financial reporting. Support and training will be ongoing. And we will do all we can to ensure you gain the experience you need to obtain your APC qualification.

Eligibility

You’ll need to be on course to achieve a 2.1 in a specific accredited degree, or already hold a 2.1. A good eye for detail is important too, as is the readiness to get involved in whatever project comes your way.

Living

On this programme you will receive all the training and support you need to achieve your Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) qualification through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Our UK Living division provides transactional and advisory services across the Living sector, headquartered in London and operating across our UK office network. You’ll gain extensive practical experience on rotations in a number of our teams, including Residential Valuation, Development Agency, Build to Rent/Residential Capital Markets, Student Accommodation, Senior Living, Development & Strategic Advisory and Planning.

What to expect

You will be working with internal and external Cushman & Wakefield teams, as well as liaising with a variety of clients. This will enable you to build your knowledge on a range of Living projects. Whatever your role, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop the skills and expertise you need to pass the APC first time. Key areas of development will include; valuation, purchase & sale, development appraisals, financial analysis and carrying out inspections and undertaking measurements. The programme with consist of three 8-month rotations within your two year structured training period.

Sustainability

Our Sustainability Consulting team is focused on environmental impact reduction, making buildings healthier and more productive places and enhancing social impacts. Working for this team you will be at the heart of this transition to sustainable buildings and reducing our client's environmental impact across the property lifecycle .This programme is non-rotational, but you will have plenty of opportunities to build up broad experience across the whole department.

What to expect

You will help to deliver a broad range of projects for our clients. In fact, there will be no limit to what you can get involved in. You’ll undertake a bespoke two-year training programme designed to give you an expert understanding of our business as well as develop the skills vital to a career in real estate sustainability.

You’ll need to be on course to achieve a 2.1 in any degree discipline, or already hold a 2.1. A good eye for detail is important too, as is the readiness to get involved in whatever project comes your way.

Building Engineering Services

On this programme you will join our Building Engineering Services team, who provide design and management services relating to the mechanical, electrical and public health elements within buildings during initial construction, fit-out and occupancy stages. You will follow a training programme working towards Chartership.

What to expect

Two days will unlikely be the same on our Building Services team. You will experience everything from concept designs and technical compliance to project meetings and site inspections. Support and training will be ongoing and we will do all we can to ensure you gain the experience you need to obtain your professional qualification.

Valuations

As a Graduate Surveyor you will be placed into our dynamic Valuations Division where you will work closely with clients and team members as well as with other graduates going through our in-house training programme and the APC process.

This programme is non-rotational but you will have plenty of opportunities to build up broad experience across the whole department.

What to expect

As a Graduate Surveyor you will be expected to complete our bespoke in-house modular assessment programme alongside study and completion of your APC. Cushman & Wakefield will provide all the training and support across our two-year graduate programme to help you achieve this, and what we ask in return is your enthusiastic and motivated approach.
